![]() ![]() When it does there's a sequence of things you can do to stop it happening quite so often. My new one occasionally disconnects but very rarely. It seems it was just that MacBook - it had keyboard issues, reliability problems and the full range of first gen MacBook Pro ailments and Apple ended up replacing it totally when it was in having a second keyboard replaced. You can change it on some routers but it's complex and can cause other, majorm issues. ![]() You can't modify the country code of a router, it's supposed to be unchangeable. My iMac, normally wired to the router, was fine but if on wifi would disconnect occasionally, as in 20 times less than the Macbook. ![]() Windows and most OSs - including iOS - ignore this country code (it's more complex than that but the fundamental thing is that wifi just works and doesn't disconnect). In the UK, my router said it was in Taiwan - it just hadn't been set by the ISP, who I contacted and they just said they couldn't do anything. Nothing helped and internet searches didn't help until I noticed something on, like, page 12 of the results about the country code of the wifi router. Apple Geniuses were totally perplexed - I pointed out my iPhone and iPad never disconnected from my home wifi, just the Macbook, so it couldn't be the wifi itself. I had the same issues on my bought-in-2017 MacBook Pro without touchbar.
